Where is Wild Deodorant made?

When we were deciding where is wild deodorant made, we knew our partner had to have top-notch eco-credentials. After an extensive search to find the right natural deodorant manufacturers, we partnered with two factories that align perfectly with our sustainability values. Our operations team recently visited one deodorant factory to get a closer look at the production process and see exactly how is deodorant made as sustainable as possible

Let's find out more about the factory.

If you were to visit the site where your favorite deodorant is manufactured, the first thing you would notice is that the entire roof is covered in solar panels. Sustainability was the priority from day one.

Producing personal care can be energy-intensive, but the deodorant factory uses the power of the sun to run all its machinery. It doesn't stop there because our natural deodorant manufacturers use water-free methods. This means Wild is created using processes that don't add water at any stage. We chose this method to avoid wasting resources and to keep our formula as natural as possible, reducing the need for additional preservatives. We also use recyclable, recycled, or compostable packaging, and even leftover materials like oils or grease are collected for re-use.

After agriculture, industry is the second-largest user of freshwater globally. In the United States alone, industrial water use amounts to around 6 billion litres every single day. Industrial water consumption is also a major contributor to water pollution, so creating Wild using water-free methods is a big step towards protecting our planet.

How is deodorant made at Wild?

In the factory, the experts precisely weigh out each ingredient, from a little coconut oil to a drop of shea butter. This recipe is a science and has been perfected over time.

The formula is created using a heating and cooling method starting with a big, heated pot. This mixing process alone takes almost a day to ensure a smooth mass. Once perfected, the formula is taken to the filling machine where empty refills are placed on a production line and individually filled. Each one passes through a cooling tunnel before being tested for quality and prepared for shipment. All in all, it takes 32 hours to transform raw ingredients into the finished product you receive at your door.

What's next for the factory?

Looking ahead, the factory is even exploring how to use waste energy from the cooling process to help with the heating, ensuring we save as much energy as possible even while using solar power.
