Is our Body Wash compostable?

Yes, and here's exactly how it works.
Our Body Wash, Hand Wash and Roll-on refills are made from a microbe-based material called Vivomer. It's 100% petrochemical plastic-free, and once it's in the right conditions, it breaks down completely, with no microplastics left behind.
Composting it
Vivomer is certified by TUV Austria to break down in home compost within 52 weeks. Rinse your empty refill, pop it in your compost bin (cut it into pieces first if you want it to go faster) and let it do its thing. No compost bin at home? Small outdoor or indoor composting setups work too, and plenty of areas have industrial composting facilities that'll take it as well.
No composting option? General waste is fine.
If composting isn't on the table, the refill can go in general waste. It'll still biodegrade there, just more slowly than in a compost heap, since landfill has a lot less oxygen and microbial activity to help things along.
Can I recycle it?
Not yet. Vivomer is a genuinely new material, and most recycling streams aren't set up to sort it. Please don't put it in your recycling bin!
