Did Someone Say Miffy? 🐰
Wild
If you grew up in the Netherlands, she was your first best friend. If you grew up elsewhere, you might know her as the adorable, minimalist bunny who seems to have a permanent residency in every stationery shop. Either way, you’ve likely noticed the world’s most famous rabbit has now officially hopped onto our website!
Who is Miffy, anyway?
For those who didn't spend their childhood in a world of primary colors and thick black outlines, here’s the 101:
Miffy was created in 1955 by Dutch artistDick Bruna. She was born from a bedtime story Bruna told his son about a little bunny they’d seen on holiday. Bruna’s philosophy was "less is more", so he only used a few colors and simple shapes to communicate big emotions.
In the land of the Dutch, she’s called Nijntje [nine-tyuh], which comes from the word konijntje (little bunny). But when the time came to take her adventures international, Bruna knew he needed something more universal. You might be disappointed to hear the word Miffy doesn't actually mean anything. It was chosen simply because it mimics the soft 'miffing' sound of a rabbit’s nose.
Miffy + Wild?
You might be wondering:What does a 70-year-old bunny have to do with refillable deodorant? Actually, quite a lot. Like our cases, Miffy is built to last. She represents a world that is uncomplicated and kind and we think your morning routine should feel the same way. No harsh chemicals, no plastic waste, just good vibes.
We’ve brought that minimalist spirit to a full collection of Wild essentials. From body wash, to deodorant, to lip balm, think of it as a set of functional art for your bathroom shelf!
