Sustainable Deodorant Packaging with Bamboo
Wild
The Secret to Wild Deodorant Packaging.
We ditched plastic packaging for deodorant lovingly wrapped in bamboo pulp and we think itโs a pretty awesome thing. Given our love for bamboo, we were pretty excited to find out that September 18th is World Bamboo Day. Celebrate with us and read about why bamboo cosmetic packaging is the future of your bathroom.
**Is bamboo packaging sustainable? **
Bamboo pulp packaging is our replacement for traditional deodorant packaging. Instead of plastic that ends up in landfill or is a nightmare to recycle, each Wild refill comes in a bamboo pulp sleeve thatโs completely zero waste.
Because itโs made of compostable and biodegradable material, it leaves no trace once youโre finished. If you've been searching for sustainable deodorant packaging that actually works, this is it. Itโs deodorant in recyclable packaging that doesnโt compromise on performance.
How does it go from a shoot to a refill?
Bamboo is a grass and grows much faster than wood pulps, sometimes over half a metre a day. This means it replenishes itself quickly, avoiding the deforestation associated with traditional paper. Once the bamboo has been harvested, itโs chopped into chips and washed before the pulping begins. The bamboo chips are then pulverised and cooked to break them down and isolate the fibres which will be turned into the refill packaging. These fibres are transformed into a paper-like material, cut to the right size, and made into the refill sleeves which you see wrapped around your deodorant. The final result is a sustainable deodorant packaging solution that has the strength, tear resistance, and antibacterial properties of a high-performance material while remaining totally natural.
What happens once Iโve finished a refill?
Our deodorant recyclable packaging gives you plenty of options. You can compost it because our refills are made from biodegradable material that can go straight into your home compost bin. You can also recycle it as each refill is made from recyclable material. Alternatively, you can rewild it by getting creative and using the empty sleeve as a compostable pot to grow your own plants. By choosing reusable deodorant packaging, youโre helping us end the era of single-use plastic.
